That is why it is clear to ex-Bayern star Holger Badstuber, despite everything, that the situation „looks more like Max Eberl’s departure“, „because then they wouldn’t have said such things in the press“, the former central defender told BILD
Badstuber also made it clear that in the event of a non-extension, the collaboration would have to end immediately in order to „ensure clarity around the team“

Even though Badstuber made relatively drastic comments about Eberl’s future at the beginning, a future at FC Bayern is by no means out of the question for him. „Perhaps this will be communicated in the last few weeks or the next few weeks – and then there will be a turnaround,“ the 37-year-old speculated
Regardless of what the club decides in the end, it is likely to be agreed that discussions should be held internally from now on, as Sport1 reports that Hoeneß has already faced internal backlash for his Eberl statements

According to BILD, there are two main points of criticism within the Bayern management regarding the sporting director
Firstly, some managers believe that Eberl sometimes acts too quickly when it comes to transfers and accepts transfer fees that are too high. Last summer in particular, the impression is said to have arisen internally that the 52-year-old wanted to push ahead with too many personnel matters at the same time
Secondly, the Bayern bosses apparently want a tougher approach to contract negotiations. In particular, the expensive extensions with Jamal Musiala, Alphonso Davies, Joshua Kimmich, Dayot Upamecano and Alexander Nübel are said not to have been viewed positively everywhere internally.
