Jamal Musiala makes an impressive return in the final sprint of the season. Max Eberl raves about the Bayern star after his long injury.
FC Bayern can once again rely on the in-form Jamal Musiala. The 22-year-old has been directly involved in six goals in the last five competitive matches, sending out a clear signal for the hot phase of the season.
Musiala also played an important role in the wild 4:3 away win in Mainz. The attacking player came into the game after the break when Munich were already trailing 3-0. The international first narrowly missed the target from distance, then he was on hand in the 80th minute to equalise the score at 3:3. Shortly afterwards, he was also involved in Harry Kane’s winning goal.
After breaking his leg, Musiala had taken a long time to get back into full rhythm. In the ZDF sports studio, Max Eberl praised the Bayern star’s development: „It’s been a long journey for Jamal.“ The sporting director also made it clear how strong the attacking player now looks again.
„Helps German soccer too“
Eberl is particularly impressed by Musiala’s physical condition. „The great thing is that he looks even more physically robust,“ said the 52-year-old. For Munich, the playmaker’s top form comes just as the season is hotting up and the pressure remains high.
Eberl also sees the development as positive with regard to the national team. „He’s on the way to becoming his old self again. That helps us at FC Bayern, but it also helps German soccer,“ explained the Bayern boss. After the difficult months at the start of the year, Musiala seems more present and more eager to play again.
The semi-final first leg of the Champions League awaits on Tuesday evening at Paris Saint-Germain, where Bayern will once again need Musiala in top form.
