Bayern are continuing their intensive search for a new head coach. Following the recent cancellations, Erik ten Hag has become the focus of Munich’s attention. According to the latest reports, the 54-year-old is at the top of Bayern’s list of coaches.
„You can be sure that I don’t have a home office and that I’m not sitting around without a plan. I’m giving it a lot of thought,“ emphasised Max Eberl in an interview with BILD on Sunday when asked about the ongoing coaching search at FC Bayern.
Following the cancellation of Ralf Rangnick, Eberl and Co. must continue to scour their list of coaches. As Sky reports, Erik ten Hag is moving into the focus of the Munich team. According to the pay-TV channel, the Dutchman is once again a hot candidate. According to the report, the 54-year-old’s management had already made an enquiry weeks ago. However, there have been no concrete talks between the German record champions and Ten Hag so far.
The British Daily Mirror also reports that Ten Hag is now „right at the top“ of Bayern’s coaching list. According to information from the Mirror, Ten Hag is not only valued by Bayern bosses Uli Hoeneß and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, but also sports director Max Eberl is open to signing him.
Ten Hag is open to a Bayern return
The Dutchman is not only fluent in German, he was already under contract at FC Bayern from 2013 to 2015 and successfully coached the second team. Ten Hag is therefore also familiar with the club’s philosophy.
The interesting thing is: According to information from Sky, Ten Hag can imagine a return to Munich in principle. Provided he has to leave Manchester United in the summer.
