All the top solutions have turned FC Bayern down in recent weeks. The search for „Plan D“ in Munich is virtually starting from scratch. From Lothar Matthäus‘ point of view, Bayern should fall back on a tried and tested coach – Hansi Flick.

While foreign coaches (Julen Lopetegui, Erik ten Hag, Robert De Zerbi, among others) have been the main names on FC Bayern’s radar of late, Hansi Flick is another German coach who would be available. The former Bayern six-a-side coach is still looking for a new coaching job in the summer following his DFB retirement. According to reports, the 59-year-old can imagine a return to Säbener Straße.

TV pundit Lothar Matthäus also finds the idea appealing: „I already had an idea on Thursday: Hansi Flick. He knows the club. He was in talks with Barcelona, but they decided otherwise. If he has their full support, why not?“ he explained on Sky.

Flick is not a hot topic at FC Bayern

The name Flick has been circulating around the Isar for weeks. According to this, there are certainly those within FCB who are in favour of bringing him back. Flick could take over the record champions as an „interim solution“ until the summer of 2025. This would give the club more time to find a top long-term solution.

The treble-winning coach from 2020 has already proven that he is able to get a team on the road to success quickly. Flick not only knows the squad very well, but also the structures and people involved at FC Bayern.

The problem is that the former national coach is looking for a long-term project and would prefer to take a coaching job in another European country. Furthermore, there are currently no talks between the club and the coach. Max Eberl and Co. appear to be focussing on other candidates.
