Uli Hoeneß has made a lot of headlines at FC Bayern over the past few days with his FAZ interview. As has now become known, Hoeneß‘ latest statements have also been anything but well received by Ralf Rangnick.

Not only did Thomas Tuchel recently receive a clear side blow from Uli Hoeneß when he declared that the 50-year-old would not trust himself to develop young talents such as Alphonso Davies or Aleksandar Pavlovic, but his potential successor Ralf Rangnick was not spared either.

Hoeneß makes no secret of the fact that the 65-year-old is only the third choice in Munich: „We have never spoken to three coaches at the same time. When we talk to someone, you have to give him the feeling that he is the man. If he says yes, then it’s perfect. If he says no, then we move on,“ he emphasised.

In plain language: Rangnick only became the focus of Bayern’s attention after Xabi Alonso and Julian Nagelsmann cancelled their contracts.

Rangnick reacts to Hoeneß‘ statements

As reported by kicker, Rangnick „naturally registered“ Hoeneß‘ statements and was not „particularly pleased“ about them.

The interesting thing is: According to information from the trade magazine, Rangnick has deposited his astonishment at Hoeneß with Max Eberl & Co. However, Rangnick is not deterred by this and is still prepared to take over the coaching position at the German record champions in the summer.

However, he has not yet made a final decision. It remains to be seen when exactly this will happen. One thing is clear: according to Max Eberl, this will not happen before the semi-final first leg against Real Madrid. However, Munich expect the coaching issue to be resolved by the second leg on 8 May. According to kicker, the Bayern bosses are pushing for clarity and more calm at Säbener Straße.
