Former Bayern talent Joshua Zirkzee is causing quite a stir in the current Serie A season. Alongside other top clubs, Juventus are also interested in the Bologna shooting star and are now trying to finalise an interesting deal with FC Bayern.

Joshua Zirkzee has already scored 10 goals in the current Serie A season. Several top clubs from Italy and England are now keeping an eye on the 22-year-old. In addition to AC Milan and FC Arsenal, Juventus have also entered into the poker game. The „Old Lady“ has come up with an unusual negotiating tactic.

Juve are apparently trying to convince FC Bayern to make use of the buy-back option in Zirkzee’s contract in 2022, which is said to be in the region of 20 to 25 million euros. According to Sky Italia, they then want to negotiate a transfer fee with the German record champions in order to achieve a possibly lower transfer fee than FC Bologna would demand.

Is this really profitable for FC Bayern?

Whether such a deal would be worthwhile for FCB is questionable, as Munich would receive a 50 per cent sell-on fee from Bologna in addition to the buy-back option. If FC Bayern were to exercise the buy-back option for Zirkzee, they would have to sell him for more than €50 million in order to earn more from him than from the sell-on fee. However, the Dutchman’s current market value is only €40 million, so the risk of re-signing him and then selling him on would possibly be too high for FC Bayern.

The Serie A clubs are only prepared to pay the same 35-40 million euros for the 1.93 metre tall striker. Arsenal FC appear to be much more interested in a deal such as the one proposed by Juventus, as the Londoners would reportedly even pay over 60 million for Zirkzee. This would mean that around five to ten million euros more could flow to Säbener Straße than the sell-on fee.
