What will Julian Nagelsmann do after the European Football Championship? The 36-year-old has recently been linked with a move to both FC Bayern and Borussia Dortmund. According to the latest reports, the national coach has now turned BVB down.

Julian Nagelsmann’s contract with the German Football Association expires after EURO 2024.

Nagelsmann recently emphasised that he would ideally have clarified his sporting future before the start of the tournament. In addition to remaining with the DFB, the national coach can also imagine a return to club football. According to reports, Nagelsmann is leaning towards a club coaching job, as the daily work with the players particularly appeals to him.

Nagelsmann not attracted to BVB job

The 36-year-old has been linked with numerous clubs in recent weeks. In addition to FC Barcelona, Liverpool and FC Bayern, Borussia Dortmund are also said to have been interested in Nagelsmann.

However, Sky reports that BVB is not an option for Nagelsmann in the summer. According to the report, those responsible in Dortmund have already been informed.

In addition to Dortmund, Newcastle United have also put out feelers for Nagelsmann. However, a move to the Premier League to join the Magpies is also out of the question for the former Bundesliga coach at present.

Nagelsmann not a hot topic at FC Bayern

The trail to FC Bayern is also cold at the moment, as Sky has learnt. Although the name Nagelsmann is definitely a hot topic within FCB, unlike Xabi Alonso or Roberto De Zerbi, there is currently no contact between Bayern and Nagelsmann.

According to Sky, this is mainly due to the fact that there are not only supporters of a Nagelsmann return at Säbener Straße. Accordingly, a comeback in Munich is being discussed quite controversially. In addition, the ex-Bayern coach does not appear to be a favoured alternative for Tuchel’s successor behind Alonso and De Zerbi.
