Paul Wanner’s loan to SV Elversberg ends in the summer. He is unlikely to return there. Those responsible at FC Bayern apparently already have another plan for the youngster.

At the moment, Paul Wanner’s future at FC Bayern is uncertain. After his loan to second-division club SV Elversberg, he is initially expected to return to Munich. But according to Sport BILD, Bayern have a plan for their jewel.

The idea is to loan Wanner out for another year. According to the report, it is important for the German record champions to find a first division club as a destination for Wanner. There, the 18-year-old should prove himself at a higher level. So far, there is no information about potential suitors. However, based on his performances in Elversberg so far, clubs could well be interested in loaning out the U20 international.

In the current season, Wanner has made twenty appearances for the Saarland side. He has scored four goals and provided three assists.

Wanner for Germany or Austria in the future?

It is also questionable which national team Wanner will choose in the future. Wanner has German and Austrian citizenship. His mother comes from Austria and his father is German. Austria’s national team coach Ralf Rangnick would probably like to have Wanner in his team for the long term. So far, however, Wanner has only played for the DFB’s youth teams. According to Sky, however, he wants to take his time before making a final decision.
