Fans of the German record champions have been asking themselves for weeks: will Alphonso Davies leave FC Bayern or will his contract be extended after all? While Spanish media are reporting on an imminent move to Real Madrid, the player himself does not want to comment on his future.

The contract poker with Alphonso Davies finally seems to be entering its final phase. After the Canadian was on the verge of an extension almost a year ago, the departure of Hasan Salihamidzic and Oliver Kahn led to negotiations being put on hold for the time being.

Since then, Davies has been repeatedly linked with a move to Real Madrid. In Spain, reports have recently been circulating that the left-back has already decided in favour of a move to the Whites.

Davies does not wish to comment

Davies is currently travelling with the Canadian national team. On Saturday, the Canadians will face Trinidad and Tobago in the CONCACAF Nations League play-offs. A win would mean qualification for the Copa America for the first time.

During a press conference, Davies was asked about his sporting future, among other things. The Bayern star remained silent until a representative of the Canadian Football Association intervened. He asked the reporters present to only ask questions relating to the national team.

Bayern expect a decision soon

New sporting director Max Eberl recently made it clear that they wanted to clarify the Davies case as soon as possible. According to him, the 23-year-old has been made „a very concrete, honourable offer.“ Eberl demanded: „At some point in life, you have to say yes or no.“

According to Sport BILD, FCB are offering the Canadian international an extension until 2029 with a salary of 13 to 14 million euros. This is said to be a final offer. According to the report, Bayern are not willing to make another financial offer. The problem: Davies is reportedly demanding 20 million euros per season.
