The future of some Bayern professionals has been a topic of discussion for weeks. Now a concrete number of candidates for departure has been named. However, it is questionable whether all the players will actually leave.

For some time now, there have been signs of a major shake-up at FC Bayern this summer. Now Sport BILD has reported how big this upheaval could be.

According to the report, the future of seven FCB professionals is under scrutiny.

This does not even include Eric-Maxim Choupo-Mouting and Bouna Sarr, whose contracts are due to expire.

Joshua Kimmich, Leon Goretzka, Alphonso Davies, Leroy Sané, Serge Gnabry, Noussair Mazraoui and Dayot Upamecano are mentioned by name.

However, it is unclear whether all seven players will actually leave FC Bayern.

Sporting director Max Eberl recently announced talks regarding Kimmich. However, Eberl emphasised that the plans for Kimmich also depend on who succeeds Thomas Tuchel: „I think a new coach will also have different views, see the player differently, perhaps come out of the box and we’ll have to wait and see.“

The question of position is certainly a crucial one for Kimmich. Under Tuchel, the 29-year-old is currently deployed as a right-back, while he himself prefers the role of a six-man.

Negotiations with Davies about a possible contract extension are now entering the decisive phase. Financially, the two parties appear to be far apart. While the left-back is reportedly demanding 20 million euros, the Bayern offer is between 13 and 14 million euros, according to Sky. Nevertheless, sporting director Christoph Freund sounded optimistic on Tuesday when he reported „good and open talks“.

The contracts of Kimmich and Davies both expire in 2025. The greatest pressure will be on these two players if Bayern do not want to let them go on a free transfer.

What about Goretzka and Gnabry?

The same applies to Sané. However, the record champions have not yet made a move for the attacking player. Eberl also wants to wait and see on the coaching issue. Nevertheless, according to BILD, Stuttgart’s Chris Führich is already being discussed as a possible replacement for Sané.

Goretzka and Gnabry both have contracts until 2026 and have long been rumoured to be candidates to leave the club. Goretzka promoted his own cause with an outstanding performance against Mainz. After two goals and two assists, he did not want to know anything about leaving Munich, saying it was „the club’s job“.

Gnabry proved his ability on Saturday with a magical goal after his long injury break. However, he will need consistently strong performances over the next few weeks to convince those in charge in Munich.

Upamecano collected minus points with his two dismissals in Rome and Bochum. Right-back Mazraoui, who is currently injured, is also not a regular at FCB. This is not only shown by the signing of Sacha Boey. Bayern’s interest in Leverkusen’s Jeremie Frimpong, which was recently reported by Sky, is no coincidence.
