Paul Wanner is currently impressing as a loan player at SV Elversberg. The bosses at FC Bayern are happy, but a conflict is looming.

Jamal Musiala, Aleksandar Pavlovic and Mathys Tel are currently the talk of the town when it comes to the future of FC Bayern. But people are forgetting that the Munich club has another great talent under contract.

Paul Wanner is currently on loan to second division side SV Elversberg and is having a convincing season there. With seven assists in 19 games, he has played his part in ensuring that the promoted second-division team has nothing to do with the relegation battle.

Wanner also put in a strong performance in the 4:1 win in Fürth on Sunday and set up the decisive second goal.

Wanner is set to return to FCB in the summer. According to Sky, Bayern are already keeping a close eye on how the 18-year-old is developing in Elversberg. Sporting director Christoph Freund and loan player Richard Kitzbichler are in regular contact with Wanner. They are satisfied with his development – especially his physical development.

Rangnick keen on Wanner

Wanner made his debut for the record champions as a 16-year-old, making him the youngest Bayern player of all time in the Bundesliga. He has already made eight appearances for FCB in the top flight. Bayern loaned him out this season to give him match practice. Obviously a win-win deal for everyone involved.

However, a similar conflict to the one currently smouldering around Aleksandar Pavlovic is looming with Wanner. Born in Dornbirn, he also has Austrian citizenship. According to Sky, Ralf Rangnick already has his eye on Wanner. The Austrian national team coach even wanted to nominate him for the international matches at the end of March.

However, Wanner, who has already played 17 international matches for the DFB, has not yet decided which association he would like to play for in the future.
