The transfer of Alphonso Davies to Real Madrid appears to be taking on ever more concrete form. After speculation about a move for the Canadian left-back has been rife for some time, there are now increasing signs that an agreement between Real Madrid and Bayern is within reach.

FC Bayern, for whom Davies still has a contract until the summer of 2025, could be prepared to pay a handsome transfer fee from Madrid despite the threat of one of its key players leaving. According to reports from Sky and BILD, Bayern are demanding between €50 million and €70 million for the pacy full-back.

This contrasts with reports from Spain, which speak of a transfer fee of 50 million euros. Real Madrid, who initially only wanted to offer 35 million euros, are now said to be prepared to increase their offer to 50 million euros. However, any bonus payments are already included in the sum. For a player with just one year left on his contract next summer, this would certainly be an acceptable transfer fee for the German record champions.

The financial aspect of the transfer is apparently not an obstacle for the Spanish record champions: „So far it’s just talks, there’s no agreement. But the terms are almost finalised and everyone in Europe sees Alphonso Davies at Real Madrid next season,“ reports journalist Anton Meana from Cadena SER. According to Meana, he is referring to sources involved in the negotiations. Those responsible at Real are endeavouring to clarify the Davies case as soon as possible.

Talks with Madrid are said to be at an advanced stage

Interestingly, another enquiry from a top European club regarding Davies is said to have been made to FC Bayern in recent days. However, Munich have signalled that talks with Real are already at an advanced stage. Pacojo Delgado, also a reporter for Cadena SER, reports that Davies is set to sign a four-year contract with Real Madrid until 2029. This fits in with reports from Der Spiegel, Marca and The Athletic. They have all already reported a verbal agreement between Davies and the royals from Madrid.

Meanwhile, Theo Hernandez from AC Milan is repeatedly mentioned as a possible successor at FC Bayern. The left-back and brother of former Bayern player Lucas Hernandez could replace the Canadian in the same position.
