Legendary Bastian Schweinsteiger has really declared himself of TV since his retirement in 2018.

He is also not afraid to tell some things in objective way and it is always interesting to see what former players have to say about current situation.

In recent interview for Sport1, Basti was asked about Bayern and their bad results this season in the Bundesliga, and here is what 2014 World Cup hero had to say about Bayern and how important Bayern is for the  German National team

„So far it’s been really interesting. Of course, when things don’t go well at the club, pressure and bad atmosphere immediately apply and it carries over to the national team as well. Especially when your self-confidence isn’t the greatest, it can happen and repeat. A good performance from the block of Bayern players is crucial for a success in Qatar.“ Schweinsteiger said

Some disappointing results this season were put on the shoulders on the biggest Bayern signing this summer Sadio Mane, and Basti was also asked if Senegaleese has been integrated in the team:

„I think that he is. He also did not have luck in some games. I don’t know how many goals he had that were ruled out because of offside but Sadio is the player that can make a difference in every time. It’s not fair to judge him after few matches, sometimes you just need time.“

Bayern legend also added that he is very confident that Mane will have a strong individual season in new club:

„He is a proved player with quality that is not questionable and he is still not on the level that everyone wants but it’s just matter of time. I am sure and confident that he will have many goals and assists this season in Munich.“

Some strong words from a player like Basti was can only be a good thing and big benefit for Mane.

After two good performances against Leverkusen and Victoria Plzen, he will have a full opportunity to show his class in Der Klassiker on Saturday against BvB in the biggest match so far this season for both him and the club.
