Which players should get chance against Plzen?

After a long time, Bayern has a big competitive squad with options at every position if we exclude Lucas Hernandez as backup option for Alphonso Davies. It was already reported multiple times that some players are not happy with the minutes that they get and now against Victoria Plzen, it is likelz that some players will get a rest for the derby against Borussia Dortmund on Saturaday. Joshua Kimmich and Thomas Müller will miss the game due to Covid infection, so the chance for some players to get a starting spot is now bigger than ever. Let’s look at some options

Ryan Gravenberch

Talented Dutchman signed for Bayern with the expectation of playing regularly after Julian Nagelsmann and Hasan Salihamidžić showed him a plan for him and his development. So far all those promises were not made and the player spoke to the press about it. With Kimmich out and Goretzka not being fully ready after the injury and Covid infection, it should be expected that former Ajax player gets at least a starting spot on the place of Central Midfielder, knowing the fact that Sabitzer showed that he can be a respectable number 6.

Noussair Mazraoui

Another player that came from Ajax was looked as the next Bayern starting Right Back after some criticism on Benjamin Pavard’s offensive game, but after Frenchman’s strong start, Mazraoui was looked as the backup option and Bild also reported that coaching staff was not happy with his defensive positioning. After amazing performance against Barcelona in which he was mostly good in defence, Moroccan international made a statement and showed a flash of everything that all Bavarians expect from him. Pavard played full 90 minutes against Leverkusen and if he will be a preferred option against BvB, playing Mazraui and resting Pavard is the only logical option for the next game.

Mathys Tel

When Bayern signed Mathys Tel, question marks were all over the place, and especially for the price that Rennes requested and got in the end, but so far he showed that he is the player for the future of his club, and that he has an immense talent for his age. In the last 2 games he did not get any minute which shocked a big portion of Bayern fans, but maybe Julian Nagelsmann wanted to show that Tel needs to work even more to get minutes and not giving him any satisfaction after few good performances. With Thomas being out, Coman not fully fit, and the fitness status of Mane and Sane who played a lot in the last weeks for both club and NT, starting Tel can be a very useful option, or subbing him in around the 60th minute in the second half. Playing in the Champions League as 17 year old can only be a good thing for his development and his mentality.

Josip Stanišić

Croatian fullback was one of the positive suprises last season and showed that he can be a good rotation option for Right Back, Centre Back and even the Left Back positions. He has not played much this season but knowing the fact that Alphonso Davies had really tough trips and played all minutes in previous few games for both Bayern and NT, and Lucas Hernandez being injured, playing Stanišić on LB as in DFB Pokal game against Victoria could be a likely scenario, even for the second half only.

Which player would you start that did not play much this season?
