After four games without a win in the Bundesliga, Bayern Munich will be facing Bayer Leverkusen in the league on Friday. For sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic, the players should be on top form by spring.

Hardly anyone would have expected that after the furious Bundesliga start, Bayern would suddenly be five points behind the top of the table and sit in 5th place.

The Bayern stars in particular are heavily criticized. Bayern Munich spent a lot of money in the summer to strengthen the squad. While the potential of the squad has already been shown in the Champions League, the club is having an unexpectedly difficult time in the Bundesliga.

Rumors have recently been circulating that there would be more and more dissatisfied players at the club. Summer newcomer Ryan Gravenberch has even publicly complained about the lack of playing time.

For Hasan Salihamidzic, such topics are nothing special and are part of everyday life at FC Bayern: „It’s completely normal for 20 ambitious players to have three or four who don’t get a chance and could therefore be dissatisfied,“ he explained in an interview with Bayern.

„We have many discussions in order to be close to the team and to be able to identify the atmosphere. There is also an almost daily check: who is playing, who is not playing, who is satisfied, who is perhaps less satisfied at the moment? It’s a dynamic process.“

From Salihamidzic’s point of view, Julian Nagelsmann is particularly in demand when it comes to squad management: „It is very important, especially for the coach. Everyone has to be in top form in the spring.“
