After watching Jamal Musiala perform for Bayern Munich and Germany, you could safely say that it would be a shame to see him on the bench.

Jamal Musiala was given a chance over Leroy Sane and Kingsley Coman in the DFL Supercup final against RB Leipzig and was allowed to play from the start. The youngster promptly thanked Julian Nagelsmann for his trust with a goal and an assist in the first half.

After his strong performance against RB Leipzig, Musiala has a good chance of being in the starting eleven again in today’s Bundesliga opener against Eintracht Frankfurt. From Nagelsmann’s point of view, the 19-year-old must show in the coming weeks and months that he is able to play consistently at a top level.

In the press conference before the away game against Frankfurt, the Bayern coach said the following statement about Musiala: „In the end, it’s pretty simple. I praised him a lot myself, but in the end, he knows that if he doesn’t perform well, he doesn’t play. He has to prove his performances!”

At the same time, the 35-year-old hinted that Musiala is not a player who overreacts or make claims after a strong game: „He’s a great guy, very friendly and eager to learn. It’s not like he goes on cloud 9 or has funny thoughts. He was praised and rightly so. That’s okay too. I don’t feel like he’s taking off.“
