Bayern sports director Hasan Salihamidzic has had to take a lot of criticism in recent years. The 45-year-old was mainly criticized for his „bad transfer policy“. With the signing of Sadio Mane, it could now also have a positive effect on his future as a sporting director at Bayern

After a disappointing season which was followed by a Champions League elimination against Villareal, the upcoming transfer window will be one of the most important in club’s recent history. Above all, Hasan Salihamidzic has to deliver, who is massively under pressure. With Noussair Mazroui, Ryan Gravenberch, and Sadio Mane, Bayern’s transfer summer has been impressive to date. The Mane transfer in particular has been met with a lot of positivity.

According to German magazine “kicker”, Salihamidzic not only strengthened the squad with the Mane transfer, but also his standing at the same time. While the first rumors about Mane were still being ridiculed, Bayern’s chief squad planner actually managed to lure a real superstar in Munich. Mane was also considered by Paris Saint-Germain.

According to reports, the 45-year-old is largely responsible for Mane’s transfer. Salihamidzic noticed the opportunity early on that the Senegalese international is open to saying goodbye to Liverpool FC and is trying to do so at an early stage.

According to „kicker“, Salihamidzic has collected plus points within the club. The transfer itself could now strengthen his position and his arguments for a contract extension. His contract at Bayern as a sports director expires in 2023.
