Hasan Salihamidzic joined the club as a sporting director in the summer of 2017. Since then the Bosnian has become one of the biggest critical points of the board. As Hoeness‘ regen, could now things change?

Although it had been spoken before for a potential contract extension of the Bosnian few weeks ago, after the bad handling of the situation regarding Robert Lewandowski’s future, the club is now doubting whether Salihamidzic is now worthy of his current position that he holds.

According to SportBild, the board is now skeptical whether Brazzo deserves a contract extension. The position of the Bosnian is currently being questioned due to several factors, as listed below.

– The delayed contract extensions. Robert Lewandowski and Thomas Müller have been complaining that the club took very long to approach them for talks. The Bosnian is not regarded highly within the dressing room. Two weeks ago, Brazzo was dancing in a night club in Mallorca and meeting players‘ agents.

– The departure of key players. David Alaba, Thiago Alcantara, Niklas Süle have all left for very little. The next player could now be Lewandowski and possibly Gnabry. Gnabry and Süle have both complained for the lack of appreciation from the club. In particular, as per SportBild, it’s been 5 years since Brazzo had last approached Süle for talks.

– The late attempts to sign players. The failed and late attempts to sign players repeatedly after their deals were done, for example Nico Schlotterbeck and Antonio Rüdiger. This strategy of Salihamidzic has not gone well within the club.

It remains to be seen how Brazzo’s future will be decided in the next few weeks or months. Currently he is under extreme pressure to deliver not only as a sporting director but also as a negotiator, with many players probably leaving who also need replacement.

Although Noussair Mazraoui and most likely Ryan Gravenberch are deal done, the signings are mostly attributed to Julian Nagelsmann, who was key in the negotiations. Accodding to Fabrizio Romano, Mazraoui had already decided for Barcelona before talking to Julian Nagelsmann over the phone.
