Even if Matthias Ginter is not the ideal solution for the club to succeed Niklas Süle at Bayern Munich, there are many indications that the central defender will move to Bayern in the summer. The 28-year-old has commented on the ongoing rumors about himself for the first time.

He is available for free, is a German national team player, and has a lot of international experience. At first glance, Matthias Ginter has almost everything that Bayern expect from a new central defender. However, those responsible are not really convinced of the sporting qualities of the M’Gladbach professional. According to reports, the German is only an „emergency solution“ if Bayern fail to sign the other defenders.

Ginter hasn’t made a decision yet

Due to the fact that Bayern have lost more and more options recently, the chances that Ginter will actually end up at Säbener Straße are increasing. Ginter himself commented about his future at a press conference on Wednesday: „I honestly can’t say much about that because I haven’t made a decision. It will be another two, three, four weeks before I’ve made up my mind“, which most likely implies that the talks with either Bayern or potential future clubs are still on-going.

It is also interesting that the defensive player also speaks to Hansi Flick, the German national coach in this regard: „I’m also in contact with Hansi Flick about this, I also listen to his opinion, but ultimately it’s my decision.“
