Leon Goretzka has been training individually for some time now following his consistent knee pain over the past couple of months. The midfielder is close to making his comeback in full team training soon, after missing out four months due to injury.

According to „BILD“, Leon Goretzka is making great progress in his rehabilitation program. On Thursday, he once again trained individually on the pitch and with the ball without any problems. There is hope that the German international should be returning soon in team training and as head coach Julian Nagelsmann said on Tuesday, he is hopeful that Goretzka could be ready for the Champions League quarterfinals.

Bayern Munich’s fitness doctor Prof. Dr. Holger Broich was responsible for Leon Goretzka’s four hours of training today, together with his colleague Simon Martinello who has guided and observed Goretzka throughout the recovery period.

The good news is, Goretzka can finally shoot the ball, which wasn’t possible at all for three months straight. The midfielder was making shots on target several times, with a lot of turns, passes, and short sprints as a part of the training exercises.

Tolisso could make his comeback next week

There is also good news regarding Corentin Tolisso. The Frenchman has been sidelined with a hamstring injury for a couple of weeks and is about to make his comeback against Union Berlin on 19th March. The midfielder was also training individually today for 45 minutes, together with fitness coach Simon Martinello in order to ‚build his fitness‘.
