Julian Nagelsmann is reportedly anything but satisfied with the squad development at Bayern Munich. The departures of Niklas Süle and possibly Corentin Tolisso will weaken the squad once again in the summer. If the record champions do not buy adequate replacements, Nagelsmann believes that Bayern is at risk of losing their international competitiveness.

It is an open secret that Julian Nagelsmann wanted to have new additions to his squad in winter, but the Bayern bosses vetoed it. According to „SPORT1“ information, the head coach hopes that he will get new players in the summer. There is a great need for new additions, especially on the defensive. With the departure of Niklas Süle, Bayern need a new central defender. From Nagelsmann’s point of view, the right-back position is also anything but ideal. Should Corentin Tolisso leave Bayern, a new addition in defensive midfield is also needed.

The problem: Bayern are still sticking to their financial policy during corona. There will be no expensive transfers in the summer. Also due to the fact that the club recently spent a lot of money on the contract extensions of Joshua Kimmich, Kingsley Coman, and Leon Goretzka. Further extensions with Manuel Neuer, Thomas Müller and Robert Lewandowski are still pending.

If the German record champions do not improve the defense in the coming transfer market, Nagelsmann expects that “the goals at international level will have to be lowered”, as “SPORT1” reports.
