Rumor: Juventus target Choupo Moting as Vlahovic’s backup

Juventus signed Dusan Vlahovic this winter. The Serbian is to become the old lady’s main figure. According to media reports, however, the Italians are looking for a suitable backup for Vlahovic and seem to set their eyes in Munich.

Vlahovic has made a dream start at Juve. The 22-year-old scored a goal in both the first league game for his new club and in the Champions League. Juve therefore wants to be active in summer’s transfer market. An experienced backup is needed.

As reported by „Tuttosport“, the Italian record champions have targeted Bayern Munich attacker Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting.

Choupo instead of Morata or Kean

Choupo-Moting has become a great backup over the past few years. His goal ratio is also quite impressive. Choupo is also known as „Everybody’s Darling“ in Bayern.

His athletic and human qualities make the 32-year-old desirable. Juventus has some catching up to do in the striker position. Alvaro Morata and Moise Kean are currently on loan and are set to leave the club at the end of the season.

Choupo-Moting is contractually bound to the record champions until 2023. It is questionable whether Bayern will actually let the attacker go next summer. With Joshua Zirkzee, however, they would have another backup for Robert Lewandowski in their ranks. The young Dutchman is currently on loan at RSC Anderlecht and has developed very well in Belgium.
