Bayern CEO Oliver Kahn was full of emotions yesterday after Franck Ribery announced his retirement from football.
Even though Kahn only had one season with the legendary Frenchman, he was still close to him and the club during his tenure in Munich.
Here is what one Bayern legend had to say about the new one in that category:
„With Franck Ribéry, one of the greats in the history of football – and FC Bayern – is ending his career. I was lucky enough to still be on the pitch with him and I could see very clearly how he delighted our fans with his attacking moves on the pitch. Franck was something very special on the pitch. He stood for sophistication. FC Bayern is proud to have had him in their ranks for ten years and to have won the biggest titles with him.“
It will be really strange knowing the fact that there is no more Franck Ribery in club football, but knowing the fact how emotionally close is he with Bayern, it would be no suprise if he joins Kahn and the others as another former player who stepped in the board of the club.
