FC Bayern will face Borussia Dortmund on Saturday at Signal Iduna Park on Saturday. Head coach Julian Nagelsmann attended the press conference on Friday for the classic against Die Schwarzgelben, where he answered journalists‘ questions.

Joshua Kimmich was spotted training with the team today. The 35-year-old coach has now confirmed that Kimmich will be ready for the match, while Thomas Müller will have to wait:

„Both have left their quarantine. Thomas [Müller] still has a few cold symptoms, so he won’t be with us tomorrow. Regarding Joshua, we’ll wait until training today and then decide if it makes sense to travel with us to Dortmund“

Will Kingsley Coman be ready?

„Kingsley [Coman] is fit and will be available tomorrow. He has coped well with the pressure. He’s not a candidate to start yet, but he is ready to play 30-40 minutes“

What will be the reunion with Niklas Süle like? The former Bayern defender switched to title rivals Borussia Dortmund this summer for free, and the defender will meet his former employee tomorrow.

“I won’t text him and he won’t text me. But I’ll definitely hug him before the game and tell him something, but we don’t text each other“, said Nagelsmann.

There exists a constant debate on Jamal Musiala and Jude Bellingham, a battle on who is the most exciting and best talent, not only in the Bundesliga but also in the world: „Both are very important in their teams. But Bellingham is a different type of player than Jamal, more of a box-to-box player. Jamal has developed very well again this year, also defensively“, responded Nagelsmann.

What are the updates on the center-back situation?

„Lucas [Hernandez] will still be out for a while. The x-ray tests weren’t so good. Matthijs [de Ligt] and [Dayot] Upamecano have both had outstanding development. Matthijs brings good reliability, Upa has also developed very well. Both are doing very well and I’m very happy.“

Will Leon Goretzka start after a good performance against Plzen?

„Leon is doing well. When he’s in top form, he’s a player you don’t want to do without. I assume he will play and continue after his good performance against Plzeň. But there’s no guarantee.“

His thoughts on the integration of Sadio Mane into the team

„I think he has fully arrived now. He played well against Plzeň. I’m happy when everything is settled down with him. We’d all be happy if he scored a goal tomorrow against Dortmund – he’s very welcome to do that.“

At the end of the conference, the coach gave his final words on Joshua Kimmich and his chance of playing tomorrow

„We have to see what makes sense after a five-day break. He was at home for five days and couldn’t do much. We have to see how the training goes. This is also a bit of personal responsibility of the player. We’ll decide together“
