Ryan Gravenberch has recently been closely linked with a move to Bayern Munich. The 19-year-old Dutchman is not only on the wish list of Bayern, but also of other top European clubs. Manchester United are also said to be interested in the midfielder, though the player is said to prefer a move to Bayern.
The British outlet ‚The Athletic‘ claims that Manchester United want to strengthen their midfield in the summer and have also targeted Ryan Gravenberch. The Red Devils have scouted the young Dutchman very carefully in recent months. Alongside Real Madrid, United are the second European top club to compete with Bayern for the midfielder.
According to Bild, Bayern’s Hasan Salihamidzic and technical director Marco Neppe were present at the Champions League quarterfinal between Ajax and Benfica, which saw Gravenberch perform a great game, despite the elimination.
Bayern remains in pole position for Gravenberch
However, despite the interest of Real Madrid and Man United, Bayern are still known to be in pole position. The player himself favors a move to Munich and, apparently, the good relationship between his agent Mino Raiola and Bayern is an advantage to the club. Oliver Kahn recently met the Italian in person in Monaco.
In the Netherlands, too, reports have recently been circulating that the youngster „absolutely“ wants to go to Bayern. But as we know, the transfer is far from being done, as Ajax Amsterdam are reportedly demanding €30m for the Dutch international, a sum which is too exaggerated for a 19-year-old with one year left on his contract.
Considering that Ajax have been starting to play Gravenberch more often since Bayern’s serious interest, it is unlikely that Ajax’s demanded price will go down as long as Gravenberch plays and performs, unless something unexpected happens.
