The rumors surrounding a possible winter transfer of Dani Olmo to FC Bayern apparently have no concrete basis. After recent reports from England suggested that the Munich club might make a move for the Spanish national team player as early as January, there is now a clear denial.
According to information from BILD, there is no truth to the reports of a planned winter push. Accordingly, a transfer of the 28-year-old during the upcoming transfer window is not part of the German record champions’ current plans.
However, Olmo has not completely disappeared from Bayern’s radar. Max Eberl, in particular, is still considered a big admirer of the attacking player and is said to be closely following his development at FC Barcelona.
Eberl is still keeping an eye on Olmo
The connection between Eberl and Olmo is not new. The two know each other from their time together at RB Leipzig. Consequently, the Spaniard has already been linked to a move to Munich on several occasions.
Recently, there has been fresh speculation. According to English reports, FC Bayern is considering making a move for Olmo as early as January. Long-term roster planning centered around Jamal Musiala and Michael Olise was also cited as a possible reason.
However, new information from BILD paints a different picture. While Eberl continues to keep an eye on Olmo, the former Leipzig player is definitely not a concrete transfer target for the winter.
This means there are currently no indications of upcoming negotiations or a Bayern offer for the Barça player.
Olmo remains, in principle, an interesting player
It’s hardly surprising, though, that Olmo is still being monitored. The versatile attacking player can be deployed in the center or on the wings and knows the Bundesliga inside and out.
FC Barcelona signed the Spanish national team player from RB Leipzig in 2024 for around 60 million euros. A transfer back to Germany would therefore likely require a substantial financial package.
At FC Bayern, there is currently no reason to push for a major winter transfer of this magnitude on the offensive side. While the Munich club is on the lookout for an additional option on the left wing, the primary focus is on finding a backup for Luis Díaz.
