Nick Woltemade and FC Bayern—this transfer story already made plenty of headlines in the summer of 2025. Now, the German national team player is once again being linked to the record champions. However, a new bid from Munich does not appear to be on the table at the moment.
At the time, Bayern was actively pursuing the forward. However, they were unable to reach an agreement with VfB Stuttgart on the transfer fee. Shortly before the end of the transfer window, Woltemade ultimately joined Newcastle United for 75 million euros.
After a promising start, the 24-year-old’s time in England has been less successful. Woltemade is now on loan at Juventus Turin, where he scored his first goal on Thursday evening during his first start.
At the same time, speculation has recently resurfaced about a possible future with Bayern Munich. Transfer insider Ekrem Konur reported that Woltemade continues to play a role in Munich’s plans for the post-Harry Kane era. Should the striker fail to establish himself at Juventus, a return to the Bundesliga could become a possibility.
Bayern’s interest in Woltemade is “completely dead”
According to information from BILD, however, there is currently no basis for these speculations. On the “Bayern-Insider” podcast, the link between Woltemade and the German record champions is described as “completely dead.”
According to the report, those in charge at Säbener Straße are not currently planning a new push for the former Stuttgart player. A transfer in the near future is said to be out of the question.
This marks a significant change in the situation compared to the summer of 2025. At that time, Woltemade was a concrete transfer target for Bayern. The Munich club wanted to sign the forward but was not willing to meet VfB’s high transfer fee demands.
Newcastle ultimately went much further and invested 75 million euros. As things stand, there will not be another similarly costly bidding war for the national team player between Bayern and his club.
No current candidate to succeed Kane
Speculation surrounding Woltemade as a possible successor to Harry Kane should therefore be viewed with caution, at least for now.
Kane’s contract with FC Bayern runs through 2027. At the same time, the Munich club is already in talks with the Englishman about extending their partnership. The striker’s departure is by no means a done deal at this point.
Woltemade, for his part, is focusing first and foremost on his loan spell at Juventus. After a difficult stretch at Newcastle, the 24-year-old hopes to re-establish himself as a key player in Turin.
Given Bayern’s past intense interest in him, it wouldn’t be surprising if the club were keeping an eye on his development. However, according to BILD, there is currently no concrete interest or even a new transfer plan.
As a result, little remains of the recent speculation for now: Woltemade was once a hot topic at Bayern—but right now, the trail to Munich is “completely cold.”
