Recent reports about Jamal Musiala’s health have drawn a lot of attention at FC Bayern. Internally, however, the record champions have been aware of the issue for quite some time. Vincent Kompany and Max Eberl made it clear before the Super Cup match against Borussia Dortmund that the club has known about its star forward’s situation for quite some time.
For the public, much of the information surrounding Jamal Musiala’s health has only come to light in the past few days. For Bayern’s leadership, however, dealing with it has become part of their daily routine.
Sports Director Max Eberl explained that the decision to go public came from Musiala himself. “It was Jamal’s wish to share this. Internally, we’ve known about it for a while, as have the players. For us, it’s become part of everyday life,” said Eberl.
FC Bayern does not want to leave the 23-year-old to face this alone: “We, as the FC Bayern family, stand together; we will give him our full support—we already have and will continue to do so,” emphasized the sporting director.
At the same time, Eberl addressed the recent visible incidents. He explained that there had been a change in his medication. “He made a change to his medication, which is why those incidents were visible. Now we want to get back to how things were before, when those incidents weren’t happening,” Eberl explained.
Kompany sees no reason to panic
Vincent Kompany also made it clear that Bayern did not make their decisions without preparation: “We’ve known about this for quite some time. Every decision was made based on the very best information available. We know how to handle this,” said the coach.
Musiala will train individually this week. Apparently, an adjustment was recently made to his treatment that caused side effects. Now, the previous approach will be resumed.
“It’s completely normal to make changes to a treatment plan. Now we want to go back to how things were before,” Kompany explained.
For the coach, the most important thing is that the club now has significantly more information than it did at the beginning: “That initial shock is already a thing of the past; since then, we’ve received a lot more information and have made decisions with the help of the very best experts,” said Kompany.

Bayern stands united behind Musiala
The record champions are thus continuing to rely on close communication with the treating experts and intend to provide Musiala with the necessary support.
“Jamal has everyone’s support,” Kompany clarified. Internally, the situation is now being handled with much greater calm: “We’ve been prepared for this for a long time, have our procedures in place, and are very optimistic.”
Kompany and Eberl are thus making it clear: The club was not caught off guard by the latest developments. Musiala’s situation has been known internally for some time; the club has established appropriate procedures and stands united behind its star forward.
