FC Bayern Munich is in the midst of preseason training. However, a few players won’t join the team until later. In addition, there are players who were recently injured and have been dealing with issues.
It will still be a short while before Lennart Karl and Serge Gnabry are fit enough for team training. That’s common knowledge. FC Bayern doesn’t want to take any risks whatsoever with either of them.
Both German national team players suffered muscle injuries. In such cases, it’s anything but ideal to increase their workload too soon. By the time the Bundesliga season kicks off at the end of August, however, both should at least be fit enough to make the roster.
Bayern Trio Making Progress
There are also other players who have been dealing with at least minor injuries. Ismael Saibari, for example. The record champion’s new signing suffered a torn muscle fiber during the World Cup. He has recently been training individually at Säbener Straße.
According to BILD, the Moroccan is making great progress and could rejoin training within the next few days. This is very good news for FC Bayern, as they face Leipzig in the Telekom Cup on Saturday and BVB in the Super Cup a week later.
Alphonso Davies, who saw only very sporadic action for co-host Canada at the World Cup and has had a season marred by numerous injuries, is currently being brought back gradually. He, too, is making progress and is expected to return to training in the coming days.
The same goes for Jamal Musiala. After his serious injury a year ago at the World Cup, he had still been struggling with consistency. Subsequently, the metal pins were removed from his injured leg. This was followed by another brief break, but the dribbling maestro is also set to return to team training. Once that happens, Vincent Kompany will have many key players at his disposal.
