With the signings of Nathaniel Brown and Ismael Saibari, FC Bayern has already secured its top transfer targets. Sporting Director Max Eberl has now made it clear that no further surprises are expected on the incoming front—and at the same time spoke candidly about several players who could be on their way out.
During the official presentation of new signing Nathaniel Brown, Max Eberl provided insight into FC Bayern’s transfer strategy. The sporting director made it clear that the Munich club has essentially completed its plans for new signings.
“I had to smile every time I read transfer rumors this summer. We wrapped up the transfers of Nathaniel Brown and Ismael Saibari very quickly. I thought it was clear that we were done with new signings. I had to chuckle at the names that were linked to us. There’s 0 percent truth to these rumors.”
Clear Statements on Davies and the Players on the Transfer List
Eberl also put an end to speculation about a possible departure of Alphonso Davies in no uncertain terms: “I can rule out a transfer for Alphonso Davies.”
At the same time, the 52-year-old explained why the record champions now consider themselves well-positioned on the left side: “Konrad Laimer and Josip Stanišić have stepped in at left back. With Luis Diaz, Arijon Ibrahimovic, Nene, and Davies, we’re well-positioned on the left wing. Originally, we wanted to make another move on the left side of the attack, but that didn’t happen. With Ismael Saibari and Brown, we’ve become more flexible.”
Eberl was also clear about the planned departures. Three players no longer feature in the record champion’s sporting plans: “We have three players we’re prepared to let go. They have no future at FC Bayern. If they want to stay with us, it will be difficult, because we’re not planning on them. They won’t play a role. That applies to Sacha Boey, João Palhinha, and Bryan Zaragoza.”
With this, the sporting director is sending a clear signal for the remaining weeks of the transfer window. While no further signings are currently planned, the focus is now entirely on departures. Bayern in particular wants to find solutions soon for Boey, Palhinha, and Zaragoza.
