Harry Kane is currently still enjoying his vacation following the 2026 World Cup. However, once he returns to Munich, one of FC Bayern’s top priorities is set to gain momentum again: extending the English striker’s contract. While officials at Säbener Straße are optimistic, a Barcelona legend is dreaming of the striker making a move to Spain.
Even after his outstanding season, Harry Kane remains one of FC Bayern’s most important players. The 33-year-old scored an impressive 61 goals in 51 competitive matches during the 2025–26 season and further demonstrated his exceptional quality with six goals at the World Cup.
So it’s no wonder that the Munich club wants to extend its top scorer’s contract as soon as possible. According to information from sources close to the club, both sides have already held initial talks. There is a general willingness to continue working together.
Bayern is optimistic about the negotiations.
As soon as Kane returns from vacation and rejoins team training, negotiations are set to intensify.
Although some details still need to be worked out—including the contract term, salary, and potential bonus structures—there is a sense of confidence at Säbener Straße. Bayern already knows the player’s expectations, so no protracted negotiations are anticipated.
Nor does any serious competitor appear to be emerging on the transfer market at the moment. Although Kane has been loosely linked time and again in recent months with a return to the Premier League or a move to FC Barcelona, no concrete developments have materialized.
Miguel Nadal brings up the possibility of Kane joining FC Barcelona
If Miguel Nadal has his way, however, that could change. In an interview with Casinotugan, the former FC Barcelona pro spoke out explicitly in favor of signing the Bayern star.
“Signing Lewandowski was a bold, decisive move back then,” the Spaniard explained, referring to the former Bayern striker.
Nadal is convinced that Kane would be a perfect fit for the Catalans: “Barcelona had just come through a very difficult period back then, and now the club is in a different situation. So it’s only natural to sign a No. 9 striker who, I’m sure, would fit perfectly into this situation.”
The former pro then got even more specific: “I think Harry Kane would be a brilliant addition. But I don’t know how realistic that is. What’s clear, in any case, is that Lewandowski is already gone, and given his performances, it would be a real highlight—a great joy—if Kane could come.”
From FC Bayern’s perspective, however, these statements are unlikely to cause much concern. Club officials want to keep their star striker for the long term and see a good chance of successfully finalizing his contract extension in the coming weeks. Kane himself feels at home in Munich and continues to be seen as a central figure in Vincent Kompany’s sporting plans.
