The first, brief phase of FC Bayern’s preseason preparations is over. The first few days of training are complete, performance assessments for some players have been finished, and the first friendly match has been played. Now it’s time for training camp.
And it will take place at Lake Tegernsee. In addition to the training sessions—three of which will be open to fans—the Munich team will also play a friendly match. On Thursday, July 30, Bayern will face the local team FC Rottach-Egern at 6 p.m.
The goal here is to work on the fundamentals for the new season. Even though some players are still missing—such as Harry Kane, Michael Olise, and Dayot Upamecano, who were in action for a long time at the World Cup.
FC Bayern: Some Stars Join Training
Jamal Musiala will also not be there yet, as he is still recovering from having his metal pins removed. Lennart Karl and Serge Gnabry are still in the process of getting back into shape; it will take a little while longer before they can be fully integrated into the team.

Alphonso Davies had already returned to Säbener Straße shortly after the World Cup, but was then given some time off as well. The key for him now is not to rush things, especially since he had been sidelined for quite some time before the World Cup.
Bayern coach Vincent Kompany can still look forward to reinforcements for training camp, however. Since the Bayern players have the day off today, Sunday, they’ll head to Lake Tegernsee tomorrow with the pros who’ve already started training, including Tom Bischof and Arijon Ibrahimovic.
Min-jae Kim and Hiroki Ito, who both had to bow out early from the World Cup, will also join them there. The DFB contingent—including Manuel Neuer, Jonas Urbig, Nathaniel Brown, Jonathan Tah, Aleksandar Pavlovic, and Joshua Kimmich—will also be part of the group. This should ensure that the team can really step up the intensity in training.
