Rumors surrounding Michael Olise and Real Madrid have recently gained momentum. Now, the Royals have officially responded to the speculation.
Speculation surrounding Michael Olise and Real Madrid has caused quite a stir in recent days. Several reports from Spain had linked the Bayern star to Real Madrid, with some even mentioning potential record transfer fees exceeding the 200-million-euro mark.
Now Real Madrid has responded—and clearly denied the rumors in an official statement.
“In response to reports in various media outlets regarding our club’s alleged interest in FC Bayern Munich player Michael Olise, Real Madrid CF wishes to clarify that there has been no direct or indirect contact whatsoever with the aforementioned player, his representatives, or anyone associated with him.”
In doing so, the Madrid club denies not only any concrete negotiations but also any contact whatsoever with the player’s side. Most recently, it had been reported that Real Madrid continues to view Olise as a potential target for its offense. Paris Saint-Germain has also been linked to the French player in recent days.
Real Madrid emphasizes its good relations with FC Bayern
In the statement, Real Madrid also placed great emphasis on highlighting its relationship with FC Bayern.
“Real Madrid would also like to highlight its excellent institutional relationship with FC Bayern Munich, with whom the club can look back on a long history of mutual respect, cooperation, and appreciation, and regrets the spread of speculation that does not correspond to reality.”
The Spanish club is apparently also responding to reports suggesting that it might be working behind the scenes on a potential move. The message from Madrid is clear: there has been no contact with Olise or his representatives.
At the same time, Real makes it clear how transfers between the two clubs should generally proceed.
“Both clubs have always maintained a relationship based on trust and mutual respect. This is reflected, among other things, in the shared conviction that any interest in a player from the other club must first be clarified between the clubs themselves, in accordance with the principles of institutional loyalty that have always governed the relationship between FC Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.”
FC Bayern is likely to have taken note of the statement. The Munich club continues to count on Olise and views the 24-year-old as a key building block for its sporting future. As things stand, a sale is not on the table.
Instead, according to reports, club officials are working on an early contract extension. Olise is under contract through 2029 but is expected to be tied even more closely to the club in the long term. The latest speculation from Spain does not change this for the time being.
