Nathaniel Brown is on the verge of a move to FC Bayern. Following his strong World Cup debut, Jürgen Klopp has now weighed in on the transfer. He would demand a hefty sum for the rising star.
Nathaniel Brown remains one of the major talking points surrounding the German national team. The left-back impressed across the board in the 7-1 opening win against Curaçao and even capped off his strong World Cup debut with his first goal in a DFB jersey.
The 22-year-old was one of the most prominent players on the field. With his dynamism, strength in one-on-one situations, and attacking runs, Brown repeatedly created danger and underscored once again why he has been considered a top transfer target for FC Bayern for weeks.
Parallel to the World Cup , negotiations between Bayern and Eintracht Frankfurt are continuing in full swing. According to information from BILD, officials from both clubs are in the final stages. A final agreement is expected shortly. A transfer fee of around 55 million euros is being discussed.
Following Brown’s standout performance, Jürgen Klopp has now also weighed in on the matter. The former Liverpool manager is covering the World Cup as an analyst for MagentaTV and expressed his confidence in the Frankfurt player’s qualities. He recommends that Eintracht take a hard line in negotiations with Bayern: “It was a real pleasure to watch him last season. If Eintracht Frankfurt were to let this player go, I would strongly advise them to make sure they get paid properly for him. He’s a really good player.”
Klopp sees Bayern’s problems on the left wing solved
Klopp also understands the potential move to Munich. After Brown’s first World Cup match, the 58-year-old said: “He’s a great kid who has developed tremendously over the last few years, so I’m not surprised that Bayern have taken notice.”
Klopp also believes that Brown could address a specific need for the German record champions.
“Bayern have an issue at the left-back position. Because that’s a position where you’re in a bad spot if you don’t have someone there. It simply limits you in how you play.”

In fact, Bayern have been searching for additional quality on the left side for months. Brown is considered Vincent Kompany’s top choice. The national team player is expected to provide more competition and flexibility in the future.
Even after his strong performance against Curaçao, however, Brown himself did not want to comment on his future. The Frankfurt player responded cautiously to questions about his impending transfer: “I’m fully focused on the World Cup, so I won’t be commenting on that today. I’m here now, and my full focus is on the World Cup.”
Regardless, there are now strong indications that Brown will soon be wearing the FC Bayern jersey. Negotiations are in the decisive phase—and Klopp’s statements are unlikely to drive the price up any further.
