FC Bayern is not only one of Europe’s top clubs in terms of sport and business – the record champions are also in a league of their own when it comes to payments to player consultants and agents. Figures now published by the DFL show the gigantic sums that have recently flowed into Munich
According to the latest DFL financial report, FC Bayern paid a total of €49.8 million to player agents and consultants in the 2024/25 financial year
This makes the Munich club the clear leader in Germany

The enormous sum comes as little surprise, as the record champions made numerous personnel changes last year
Bayern invested almost 130 million euros in transfer fees alone for the signings of Michael Olise, João Palhinha and Hiroki Ito, as well as other transfers such as Jonas Urbig and Eric Dier
The signing of Vincent Kompany as the new head coach is also likely to have resulted in additional consultancy costs. Millions are often paid to agents and agencies, particularly for top international transfers and high-profile contract negotiations
Hoeneß is likely to take a critical view of the figures
What is particularly interesting is that the high consultant payments are unlikely to go down well internally. Uli Hoeneß in particular has been a fierce critic of the consultant business in soccer for years
The Bayern patron had repeatedly criticized publicly that agents were now earning enormous sums for transfers
The new figures now impressively show the dimensions of the business – even at FC Bayern
In a Bundesliga comparison, Borussia Dortmund is in second place, paying just over 35 million euros to consultants and agents in the same period
This clearly sets the two top German clubs apart from the rest of the league
However, the DFL points out that the figures are only comparable to a limited extent due to the fact that the scope and structure of transfers, contract extensions and coaching changes can vary greatly from club to club.
