Over the past few weeks, Musiala has clearly shown that he still lacks the confidence to play after his serious injury. Although the 23-year-old is consistently looking for one-on-one duels again, he does not yet seem to have fully regained the explosiveness and confidence from his best phases
Nevertheless, Musiala is generally positive about his development
„I know there are still steps forward that I can make, which is still missing from last season,“ explained the Bayern professional at the DFB training camp. At the same time, however, he also emphasized that he is already „very, very satisfied“ with his current condition in view of his serious injury at the 2025 Club World Cup
Nagelsmann demonstratively backs Musiala
Germany coach Julian Nagelsmann continues to fully back the Bayern star and is trying to give him additional confidence
During the German national team’s first public training session in Herzogenaurach, Nagelsmann coached Musiala with conspicuous intensity, repeatedly praising his attacking player loudly
„Well done, Jamal,“ shouted Nagelsmann several times across the training pitch
Shortly afterwards, Musiala scored his first goal of the World Cup preparations in training – a small but symbolic success
The DFB team has high hopes for Musiala, who together with Florian Wirtz will form the creative heart of the German attack
His ability to find solutions in confined spaces and decide games with individual actions is what makes him so valuable to Nagelsmann

Before the World Cup opener against Curaçao, the German national team will first play test matches against Finland and the USA
For Musiala, this means extra time to continue working on his form and gradually get back to his absolute top level
