Manuel Neuer and FC Bayern are continuing to work on the captain’s future, with a visit from his advisor Thomas Kroth now providing fresh impetus in the personnel matter.
There are increasing indications that concrete talks about Manuel Neuer are taking place. During the week, Thomas Kroth, the Bayern captain’s advisor, was seen twice around the record champions. The 66-year-old was first on site at the Champions League semi-final in Paris and later also at Säbener Straße.
When Max Eberl was asked what he discussed with Kroth, the sporting director kept a low profile. Instead of giving concrete insights into possible negotiations, the Bayern boss evaded with a joke: „His tickets for Paris. So he’ll be there in the stadium.“ Eberl also stuck to this line when asked: „He wanted tickets for Paris. We did that, he’s sitting in the VIP stand.“
Eberl also commented with a wink on the fact that Kroth appeared in person at Säbener Straße several days before the second leg. „They are in high demand,“ explained the sporting director. He did not reveal any details about the content of the tickets. However, one thing is clear: Neuer remains on the Munich team’s agenda.
Freund speaks of „good talks“

It had previously been reported that Neuer is said to have a clear tendency internally. According to this, the 40-year-old would like to extend his contract at FC Bayern. Munich are apparently offering the goalkeeper a new contract until 2027, but no final agreement has yet been reached.
Christoph Freund had already spoken of „good talks“ with Neuer before the clash against Heidenheim. At the same time, the sporting director made it clear that it was „not the case“ that „everything is already through and everything has been signed“. Neuer did not comment on his future after the match.
Jonas Urbig also did not want to be drawn into the debate. „For me, that’s not a topic I want to talk about. Because that’s a decision he’s making. Thinking about it in my position is completely inappropriate,“ said the 22-year-old. In the background, the future distribution of roles in the Bayern goal and the specific details of Neuer’s contract are still being discussed.
