FC Bayern have to cope with another setback ahead of the clash in Paris, with Raphaël Guerreiro missing at a time when Vincent Kompany already has little room for maneuver in attack.
Guerreiro suffered a minor thigh injury in the Bundesliga match against Mainz and is out for the time being, meaning the Portuguese will not be available in the crucial phase of the season when Munich face Paris Saint-Germain in the semi-final first leg of the Champions League on Tuesday.
For Kompany, the absence is particularly bitter because Guerreiro has not only been needed as a left-back recently. The 32-year-old was also seen as a flexible solution for the more offensive roles, especially in the center behind the front line. Especially when Jamal Musiala needed a break, Guerreiro was an obvious alternative in the ten.
Offensive alternatives further decimated

The personnel situation in attack remains tense. Serge Gnabry was seriously injured just over a week ago and will miss the record champions „for a long time“, according to the club. The 30-year-old tore his adductor muscles in his right thigh and will therefore also miss the clash against PSG.
What’s more, Lennart Karl is also currently out with a muscle injury. The first leg in Paris will probably come too soon for the Bayern talent, making Musiala even more important in attacking midfield, while Kompany will have fewer opportunities to add or control pressure during a match.
Guerreiro has shown time and again this season how valuable his versatility can be for Bayern. He can defend on the left, move into midfield and also find solutions in tight spaces between the lines. It is precisely these qualities that are now missing ahead of a game in which Bayern need both stability and creativity against PSG.
