FC Bayern drew 1-1 at Bayer Leverkusen on matchday 26. The Bayern stars in the FCBinside individual critique.
Sven Ulreich: Played from the start because Neuer and Urbig were missing through injury. Ulreich couldn’t do anything at 0-1 because Garcia’s shot was deflected by Tah. He made a great save with a foot save against Schick. When Maza had a chance, Bayern’s third goalkeeper got his legs together quickly enough. In stoppage time, Ulreich saved the point for Bayern with a world-class reaction save against Maza. What a save! Grade: 1
Josip Stanisic: Played flawlessly against his former loan club. Showed a decent performance overall. In the closing stages, Stanisic failed to score with a shot against Bayer goalkeeper Blaswich. Grade: 3
Dayot Upamecano: Always alert, cleared important balls and won critical duels. Good performance. Grade: 2
Jonathan Tah: Deflected the ball from Garcia before the 0:1. Then netted at his old place of work, but the goal was taken back by VAR because Tah got the ball on his elbow beforehand. Otherwise played a solid game. Grade: 3

Konrad Laimer: Had to play at left-back again. Had a lot to do defensively against Leverkusen, who pressed well, and was therefore not often able to help out up front. Grade: 3
Joshua Kimmich: Was highly motivated and often had to argue with referee Dingert. A lot of the build-up play went through Kimmich, but there were no big highlights. Decent game. Mark: 3
Aleksandar Pavlovic: Was very present in the center. Had to repeatedly make decisions in the tightest of spaces because the home side kept the center very tight. Pavlovic repeatedly found solutions, but was not very effective going forward. Was substituted after just under an hour. Mark: 3
Michael Olise: Taken out of the game at times by the Leverkusen defense, especially in the first half. Olise then set up Diaz’s 1:1 – it was his 18th assist of the season. Mark: 2
Lennart Karl: Was pretty much up in the air and had few good actions. The youngster was largely left out of the game and was taken off the pitch by coach Kompany after around the hour mark. Mark: 4
Luis Diaz: Lost the ball before Leverkusen’s opening goal. Missed a great chance when he slipped away after a great Bayern attack and hit the ball well over the box. Diaz set up the supposed 1:1 through Kane – but the goal was not given because Kane touched the ball with his elbow beforehand. Shortly afterwards, the Colombian himself equalised: Diaz finished off a Bayern counter-attack after an Olise assist with a flat finish into the corner. In the 84th minute, Diaz saw yellow for an alleged swallow – a crazy decision by referee Dingert. Nevertheless: A good game from Diaz, grade: 2

Nicolas Jackson: Had the first chance for Bayern, but missed the target. Then he shot into the arms of keeper Blaswich from a good position at the next opportunity. Jackson was sent off before the break after he hit Terrier full on the ankle with an open sole in midfield. The red card was completely justified – and totally unnecessary from the Bayern striker. Because of this stupid action, Bayern had to finish half the game short-handed. Grade: 6
Substitute
Harry Kane (61st for Karl): Scored immediately after coming on, but the goal was disallowed after viewing the video footage: beforehand, Kane touched the ball with his elbow while turning away. Got stuck in as usual and also worked a lot in defence. mark: 3
Leon Goretzka (61st for Pavlovic): Movedthe ball forward quickly a few times after coming on as a substitute. Didn’t show anything spectacular, but played the game cleanly to a clean finish. Grade: 3
Minjae Kim (88 for Laimer): Came on too late to score
Tom Bischof (88 for Olise): Came on too late to score
