FC Bayern has already made two top-tier signings this summer. If the record-holding champion’s leadership has its way, there isn’t much more that needs to be done. Uli Hoeneß, the honorary president, apparently sees it the same way.
The Bayern patriarch still wields considerable influence, as he not only has a major say on the supervisory board but also plays a role in FC Bayern’s new transfer committee.
For Hoeneß, as well as other members of the supervisory board, it’s important that by the end of the summer transfer window, Bayern have not only added smart reinforcements to the squad but also achieved a certain financial balance.
Hoeneß is applying pressure: Sales are a priority
After spending a good 100 million euros and generating significantly less revenue, this means: Players must be sold before anything else happens. Alexander Nübel and Noel Aseko are players that FCB has already let go this summer.
According toSky, Hoeneß is said to have made it clear internally that further departures should now be the top priority. Sacha Boey, Joao Palhinha, and Bryan Zaragoza are the players whose sales are being prioritized. Armindo Sieb may also leave FC Bayern.
The club would also be open to discussions regarding Hiroki Ito and Alphonso Davies if a very good offer were to come in. According to the latest reports, however, Davies in particular is said to want to fight for his spot. After a very difficult year for him, he wants to get back into the swing of things and then go on the offensive.
But even without Davies leaving, there is potential for additional revenue, especially if the club can sell the Portuguese player Palhinha without first sending him on loan.
If enough money is raised, Bayern may make another move. The right-back position isn’t the main focus here, but a backup for the offense or perhaps another player for the midfield seem like realistic options. Until then, Hoeneß in particular will ensure that the management team led by Max Eberl is reminded that revenue is the top priority.
