FC Bayern has made a real economic statement. According to the latest UEFA financial report, the German record champions increased their revenue in 2024 by almost €100 million to a total of €861 million – and thus made a huge leap forward in the Europe-wide ranking of the clubs with the highest revenue
With this sum, Munich climbed to third place in Europe and overtook two heavyweights: Manchester City, with €855 million, and Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain with €837 million. A clear signal from Munich that FCB is still among the absolute elite, not only in sporting terms but also economically
Only Real and Barça still ahead of Bayern
Real Madrid remains at the top of the table. With €1.18 billion, the royals once again broke through the billion mark and remain the measure of all things in European soccer. They are followed by FC Barcelona with €989 million, which also made significant gains thanks to a massive increase in revenue
Although the gap to the absolute top is still considerable, the development shows that the record champions are holding their own impressively in an increasingly commercialized market environment. An additional almost 100 million euros within a year is no coincidence, but an expression of strategic stability – both in sporting and economic terms
Bundesliga economically stable
The UEFA report also underlines the Bundesliga’s strong position in an international comparison. With total revenue of around €3.9 billion, the German first division clubs were just ahead of La Liga and consolidated second place behind the Premier League, whose clubs together generated over €7.4 billion
Particularly noteworthy: no German club reported negative equity. While several clubs in England, Spain, France and Italy are in financial difficulties, the Bundesliga clubs are comparatively solid. The overall result also improved compared to the previous year – a figure that not all top leagues can boast
In addition to FC Bayern, Borussia Dortmund with €532 million and Eintracht Frankfurt with €271 million also made it into the top 25 clubs in Europe in terms of revenue. Bayer Leverkusen and RB Leipzig, on the other hand, recorded declines
For FC Bayern, the message remains clear: sporting ambition and economic strength continue to go hand in hand. The jump to third place is more than just a number – it is proof of the German record champions‘ international competitiveness.
