Good news for FC Bayern: Alphonso Davies is already back on the pitch after tearing a muscle fiber
The 25-year-old was injured in the 3-2 home win against Eintracht Frankfurt last Saturday. The first scenes were worrying: Davies pulled his shirt over his face and left the pitch visibly disappointed. The diagnosis followed shortly afterwards: a torn muscle fibre in his right rear thigh
Originally expected to be out for around three weeks, Davies was back on the training pitch at Säbener Straße on Thursday. Under the supervision of a rehab coach, he completed a relaxed jogging session, which was over after around 20 minutes
According to tz, the Canadian was in a good mood and even greeted the training observers present – a positive sign after the recent setback
No risk – despite Canada plans
Despite the early return to the pitch, FC Bayern will not take any unnecessary risks, according to the report. With Hiroki Ito and Raphael Guerreiro, coach Vincent Kompany has alternatives on the left flank. Josip Stanisic or Konrad Laimer could also help out there

The Canadian FA is apparently hoping to be able to nominate Davies for the international matches in March. In a statement, it said: „The medical department of our men’s national team remains in close contact with the medical department of FC Bayern Munich regarding Alphonso Davies. A decision on his availability for the upcoming international matches in March is still pending. We will announce the full squad in the coming weeks.“
On March 28, Canada will face Iceland, followed four days later by a clash against Tunisia – both friendlies
As a reminder, Davies tore his cruciate ligament in the national jersey last year. At the time, the injury led to significant tensions between the association, club and advisor. This makes the handling of his current injury all the more sensitive.
