Two games without a win, critical headlines and the first doubts from the outside – FC Bayern are suddenly talking about a mini-crisis following the recent setbacks. However, defensive boss Jonathan Tah can do little with this assessment. For the central defender, the public perception does not match what he experiences on a daily basis within the team
In an interview with Sky, Tah made it clear that he is much more relaxed about the current situation than many observers. „It doesn’t feel like we’re in a bad phase,“ explained the 29-year-old, contradicting the emerging crisis debate surrounding the German record champions. Although the situation in the table has changed after the games against Augsburg and Hamburger SV, Tah believes FC Bayern are still fully on course in sporting terms
One important point from his point of view: the opponents have now adapted better to Vincent Kompany’s style of play. „They’ve had enough time to see what Vincent wants,“ explained Tah. This is precisely where Bayern’s next task lies. „We have to adapt again. Perhaps this is precisely the phase that could be over by now.“
Great belief in their own strength

According to Tah, there is no sign of uncertainty within the team. On the contrary: there is still a strong sense of self-confidence in the dressing room. The belief that they can beat any opponent is firmly anchored. It is therefore clear to the defender that the season is far from tipping in a negative direction. „I think everything is possible for us this season,“ he emphasised with a view to the Bundesliga, DFB Cup and Champions League
This conviction is not only based on the individual quality of the squad, but above all on the cohesion within the team. Tah describes the atmosphere at FC Bayern as exceptionally positive – and not just on the pitch
Team spirit as the key to success
Tah particularly emphasises the togetherness that runs through the entire club. „The atmosphere is very positive. The togetherness is something special. Not just the team, but also the coaching team and everyone around it,“ said the international. The decisive factor is that this cohesion is not forced. „We pull together. The special thing about it is that you don’t do it in a tense way, but also with a lot of fun and passion.“
For Tah, it is precisely this mix that is the key to surviving difficult phases and ultimately being successful. While doubts are already being voiced from the outside, the defender is relying on calm, adaptability and a strong team spirit – and still sees FC Bayern in the thick of the title race.
