FC Bayern win the top match at RB Leipzig on matchday 18. After trailing 0:1 at half-time, the Munich team win 5:1 – a real demonstration of power. The Bayern stars in the FCBinside individual review.
Manuel Neuer: Saved the game in the opening minutes with a strong foot save against Romulo. Neuer couldn’t do anything about the 0-1 goal from close range. Kept the lead with a world-class save against Diomande. Strong performance from Neuer! Grade: 2
Tom Bischof: Deployed at right-back due to the injury crisis. Looked disoriented when the goal at 0-1 was scored. Hardly got any defensive help from Karl in the first half and struggled. But the youngster got his act together in the second half. Grade: 3
Dayot Upamecano: Right at the start of the second half, a passionate ball win by Upamecano was also the assist for the 1:1 by Gnabry. Upamecano was strong in tackles at his old place of action and defended passionately. Mark: 2
Jonathan Tah: Cleared a Leipzig chance just before the goal line – Neuer would have been beaten by then. Came on too late against the goalscorer Romulo at 0-1. After that, however, Tah put in a strong performance, saving a second time in the greatest of emergencies, running off many balls and then heading the goal to make it 3-1
Hiroki Ito: Started at left-back again and played a solid game. Ito didn’t often get involved in the attack, but did an impeccable job defending behind Diaz. Grade: 3
Aleksandar Pavlovic: Played well and was much more assured after Kimmich’s substitution than alongside Goretzka. The highlight was his goal to make it 4-1, when he only had to slot in after Olise’s pass. Grade: 2
Leon Goretzka : Like the rest of Bayern’s midfield, didn’t really get a grip on the game in the first half. But Goretzka at least stuck to his guns and put in a decent fighting performance. He was substituted at half-time. Mark: 4
Lennart Karl: Ran into the Leipzig goal quite alone once in the first half, but missed the right moment to play across to Diaz. Karl left his back man Bischof far too alone with the defensive work. In attack, Karl made many wrong decisions on the right side. It was a sobering performance from Karl in the top match. Grade: 4

Serge Gnabry: Played in the ten and was completely taken out of the game in the first half. But his goal shortly after the break brought Bayern back into the game. After Upamecano won the ball strongly, Gnabry finished with ice-cold precision. Gnabry was also very lively after that until he was substituted. Grade: 2
Luis Diaz: Tested RB keeper Gulacsi with a long-range shot, but the Hungarian was able to keep it out. Diaz was very committed and also helped out a lot at the back. Didn’t have the big highlights offensively. Mark: 3
Harry Kane: Virtually invisible in the first half. Failed to beat Gulacsi from close range in the second half, but then made it 2-1 with a classy move and set up the 4-1 with a great pass. Mark: 2
Substitute
Joshua Kimmich (46 for Goretzka): Brought new order to Bayern’s play immediately after coming on as a substitute. Was very present in the center of midfield on his return from injury. Attacks often ran through him straight away, while Kimmich was also very effective in his tackles. Top! Grade: 2
Michael Olise (57th for Karl): What a joker performance! Olise immediately brought momentum to the Bayern attack after coming on as a substitute. The Frenchman set up three goals and scored the 5:1 goal himself. Incredible! Grade: 1
Alphonso Davies (81st for Bischof): Came on too late to score
Jamal Musiala (87 for Gnabry): Came on too late to score, but Musiala should have been awarded a „Grade 1 from the heart“. After a long injury lay-off, the international finally made his long-awaited comeback. And it was like a fairy tale: one minute after coming on as a substitute, Musiala set up Olise’s 5:1. His return could hardly have gone better
Minjae Kim (87th for Ito): Came on too late to score
