The search for a coach at FC Bayern is dragging on. Ex-Bayern professional Markus Babbel believes that sporting director Max Eberl is already annoyed.
Former Bayern professional Markus Babbel assumes that the many cancellations on the coaching market have left their mark on FCB boss Max Eberl. „I think Max is completely fed up,“ said the 1996 European champion on ran.
Several Bayern bosses, such as President Herbert Hainer and CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen, have recently given regular updates on the coach search. In addition, details of negotiations with various coaching candidates have repeatedly been made public.
Babbel was critical of this: „What has now taken place at FC Bayern is total madness. As Max Eberl, you have to put out fires where you didn’t even think there was anything to put out.“
Babbel on coach search: „Extreme farce“
Every decision-maker had „made their comment“. Everything had become „an extreme farce“, Babbel stated.
The former defender feels sorry for Eberl: „Now he sees that FC Bayern is different to the clubs before it,“ said the 51-year-old.
Babbel also doesn’t like the fact that the return of Hansi Flick has now also been discussed: „That fits in a bit with the image of Bayern, who in my opinion don’t cut a good figure at all and make everything very public,“ he criticised.

Flick was „definitely not the first choice“ and leaves „residual doubts“, according to Babbel.
In their search for a successor to Thomas Tuchel, Munich have already suffered several setbacks: Xabi Alonso, Julian Nagelsmann and Ralf Rangnick all turned down the German record champions. Now there are even rumours that Tuchel is considering a U-turn. It is possible that the current coach could stay at FCB beyond the end of the season after all.
