FC Bayern is set for a major reorganisation in the summer. Those responsible at the Munich club apparently also want to tackle the salary structure.
The FC Bayern bosses around the new sporting director Max Eberl are apparently of the opinion that the club pays salaries that are too high in some cases.
According to kicker, the club’s management is aware that the German record champions‘ squad is one of the most expensive in Europe in terms of salaries. Especially when it comes to the total salaries of the ten top earners, who, according to the report, together account for around 190 million euros a year in personnel costs at FCB. The comparison with the other top European clubs is therefore sobering for the current Bundesliga runners-up.
Bayern bosses implement new course with Davies
According to kicker, salaries are now to be reduced „with all their might“ under the leadership of Eberl and sporting director Christoph Freund. According to the report, the days when players were paid more than 17 million euros a year „between door and door“ are over.
Alphonso Davies got his first taste of the new salary policy. The Bayern bosses set the left-back, whose contract expires in 2025, an annual salary limit of 13 to 14 million euros. There was an ultimatum immediately afterwards.
Leroy Sané and Joshua Kimmich will probably be next in line. Their contracts also expire in the summer of 2025. An extension should therefore be discussed soon. After all, if no agreement is reached, FC Bayern would have to consider selling the players next summer, as they would otherwise risk having to make transfer-free departures a year later.
Incidentally, Sané and Kimmich also earn salaries in the region of €20 million. If the bosses really want to save on salary costs, it would certainly be tempting for them to cut costs here.
