Robert Lewandowski’s future at Bayern Munich is uncertain while the club is currently struggling to extend his contract. In the meantime, there are boiling rumors about a possible departure of the Pole to European rivals Barcelona.

The fact that Lewandowski attracts interest from Europe’s top clubs should not be a surprise. What is surprising, however, is that as of now, there have been little to no rumors about concrete negotiations between Lewandowski and the Bayern board. Although it was said at the beginning that Oliver Kahn will take the matter into his hand.

It is questionable if there has been any movement regarding Lewandowski’s contract, considering that right now, reliable Barcelona insiders are claiming that Lewandowski is open to joining Barcelona, and, his agent Pini Zahavi is already negotiating with Barcelona.

Apparently, Barcelona’s insiders Toni Juanmarti and Matteo Moretto claim that Lewandowski’s agent has an excellent relationship with president Joan Laporta, and it is said to have been two meetings regarding the footballer’s contract situation between the two. According to the journalists, it is possible that Lewandowski can join Barcelona in the summer.

Bayern Munich, in the meantime, have to find a solution if they fail to extend Lewandowski’s contract. The current situation is complex and the club should think about a replacement quick should Lewandowski leave in the summer. According to Fabrizio Romano, Barcelona are already in talks with Pini Zahavi regarding the contract duration and the Pole wants a long-term contract.
