Hansi Flick and his Bayern Munich side are back in action on Saturday when they face FC.Koln in the Bundesliga. Fresh off their thumping of Lazio in the Champions League, Bayern will look to stay at the summit with a win.

For Koln however, they have lost back-to-back matches and are now just three points away from the dreaded relegation zone heading into their clash with the league leaders.

Team news

Hansi Flick will be without Benjamin Pavard after testing positive for COVID-19, however, there is increasing hope that Thomas Muller could return to the squad after the midfielder trained this week.

Both Douglas Costa and Corentin Tolisso are set to miss the remainder of the season through injury. Saturday’s match against Koln is going to come too soon for Tanguy Nianzou and Alexander Nubel, while Serge Gnabry could return.

Jamal Musiala impressed in his attacking midfield role against Lazio midweek and he should keep his place as Flick is set to go with the same side that blew Lazio away.

For Pellegrino Matarazzo, he will be without Sebastian Bornauw who is out with a back complaint while Florian Kainz and Sebastian Andersson are making strides in their recoveries from knee injures but will not feature after returning to training. Jonas Hector is closer to returning after his muscular problem, but Saturday will come too soon.

Bayern Munich possible starting lineup:

Neuer; Sule, Boateng, Alaba, Davies; Kimmich, Goretzka; Sane, Musiala, Coman; Lewandowski

Bayern has struggled to keep clean sheets this season and Koln will cause problems in transition however the league leaders should have too much firepower to drop points in this one. Their demolition of Lazio midweek was a timely boost after their loss to Frankfurt and with Jamal Musiala’s ability to fit in seamlessly for Thomas Muller, Bayern should win this tie and stay at the summit for at least another week.

Predicted scoreline: Bayern 3-1 FC Koln
