FC Bayern put in a dominant performance at Schlossberg in Heidenheim to win their last competitive match before Christmas. Despite the hosts becoming more courageous in the second half, the Munich side did not concede a goal and won 4-0
In the last competitive match of the year, FC Bayern were dominant right from the start and barely gave 1. FC Heidenheim any breathing space. Josip Stanisic’s early goal set the scene for what was to be completed shortly afterwards by Michael Olise: a deserved 2-0 half-time lead for the German record champions
In the second half, Munich initially dominated the game, but allowed Heidenheim to make repeated offensive advances as the game progressed. However, these were not crowned with success. Goals were only scored again in the closing stages. The two goals from Luis Díaz and Harry Kane ultimately gave Bayern a well-deserved 4-0 away win
Dominant start by Bayern
At the start of the game, Munich immediately showed what they had in mind when they travelled to Heidenheim. Less than 90 seconds had passed before they had forced the home side into their own penalty area for the first time. Despite some good combinations, Bayern were initially unable to create any goalscoring opportunities worth mentioning
Michael Olise finally struck a corner perfectly at the second post in the 14th minute, from where Jonathan Tah took a circuitous route to Stanisic, who then had an easy time nodding home from around a metre out to make it 1-0

Bayern’s dominance continued after the opening goal. With around 25 minutes on the clock, the visitors had an overwhelming 84% possession. Nevertheless, Heidenheim withstood the pressure for the most part and continued to concede little
The next dangerous goalscoring opportunity did not come until the 32nd minute, but led directly to success. After a misunderstanding between Heidenheim keeper Diant Ramaj and his central defender Patrick Mainka, the ball fell to the feet of Hiroki Ito. With a little luck, he crossed the ball over Mainka, who was lying on the ground, for Michael Olise, who made it 2-0 from close range, which was the score a good quarter of an hour later

Heidenheim more courageous, but unrewarded
Bayern remained active at the start of the second half and barely allowed the hosts to get out of their own half. Harry Kane almost made it 3-0 in the 53rd minute after beating Mainka with a powerful turn, but his shot from an acute angle from the edge of the five-yard box just grazed the post and went wide of the goal
Stefan Schimmer also hit the woodwork a few minutes later, beating Upamecano in a duel and getting in a header, but it was ultimately a little too imprecise to score the equalizer. Heidenheim were now better in the game and were becoming more confident offensively. The next good chance came in the 67th minute through substitute Bayern loanee Arijon Ibrahimović, but his direct shot from around 16 metres went just over the goal
David Santos Daiber made his Bundesliga debut on 72 minutes, coming on for Raphaël Guerreiro. Alphonso Davies and Serge Gnabry were also on the pitch by this point. The next chance, however, fell to a Heidenheim player. Schimmer appeared in front of Jonas Urbig again – this time completely unmarked. The Neuer replacement made a strong save, however, and continued to keep the score level
Munich then regained their dominance and Luis Díaz rounded off his fine performance with a goal. In the 87th minute, Stanisic was sent to the baseline by Olise in the right half-space, scooped the ball in front of goal and Díaz headed the ball in to make it 3:0. Harry Kane was also allowed to score, the Englishman scoring with a powerful finish into the bottom right-hand corner to make it 4:0.
