The search for a successor to Thomas Tuchel continues to be difficult. As the new coach is expected to play a decisive role in shaping the squad for the coming season, those responsible at FC Bayern are coming under increasing pressure. However, it now appears that an initial personnel decision has already been made.

The cancellation of Ralf Rangnick has caught the Bayern bosses off guard. The original intention was to clarify the coaching issue as early as April – also in order to press ahead with the announced squad reorganisation together with the new coach. At the moment, valuable time is being lost in the search for potential new recruits. Nevertheless, the Bayern bosses now appear to be on the verge of finalising the first transfer for the coming season.

Bayern want to bring Armindo Sieb back

As transfer expert Florian Plettenberg reports, Munich are planning to bring back talented attacking player Armindo Sieb. The German youth international moved from FCB to Greuther Fürth in the summer of 2022 for a transfer fee of €50,000 and has undergone impressive development there.

In the current season, Sieb has scored 13 goals and provided three assists in 33 competitive matches. FC Bayern are said to be very satisfied with the 21-year-old’s performances, which is why they now want to exercise the contractually agreed buy-back option of around 1.5 million. In view of Sieb’s market value (€3.5 million according to transfermarkt.de), this is certainly a good deal.

However, the U21 international will not be part of the Munich professional squad immediately, but will initially be loaned out for a second time. According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, several clubs from the Bundesliga and Serie A were already interested in Sieb in the winter.

Youngster once caused controversy

Sieb was already considered a great talent as a youngster and was trained at Leipzig and Hoffenheim, among others. When the striker moved to the German record champions in 2020, the then sporting management around Hasan Salihamidzic even accepted a dispute with TSG Hoffenheim .

Bayern ordered Sieb to attend the medical check, even though he was supposed to be training with TSG that day. Alexander Rosen urged Salihamidzic to send the youngster back to Sinsheim, but to no avail.

Former coach Julian Nagelsmann once described Sieb as a „very interesting player, with good pace and an incredibly good finish“. Now, a few years later, he finally seems to have made his breakthrough.
